2) Ryan Mason
Mason has had a fantastic season, with his energetic and tough midfield performances being the driving force for Spurs on many an occasion this season. He was rewarded for his form with a call up by Roy Hodgson. England started with a midfield 3 on Friday night of Carrick, Henderson and Delph. Henderson in my opinion will be in the England squad for sometime to come, he has also had a fantastic season, whilst Carrick’s return to the Manchester United squad has coincided with an upturn in form and performances, as Spurs and Liverpool can vouch for.
However, Delph is someone that Mason could battle with for a starting spot, as in my opinion Delph has had no better a season than Mason and is the person in the England midfield with his position least nailed on at this moment in time. Mason will find it difficult to break into the team for sure, but he is certainly an option Roy Hodgson will want around the squad if he continues his form this season.
