This signing seemed to be a little bit of a risk at the time, and that risk has not paid off thus far. The Frenchman has barely featured this season, but when he has featured, he has made minimal impact.

Mauricio Pochettino revealed that N’Koudou has had a language barrier to overcome, so Pochettino obviously believes in the technical ability of the player to sign him, even though he cannot speak English.

N’Koudou made a couple of substitute appearances fairly early on in the season, and we saw small flashes of his pace. He looked a decent little player. However, the Frenchman put in a below-par performance in his first start for Spurs in the 2-1 EFL Cup loss againt Liverpool at Anfield.

The 21-year-old slipped in the build up to the first goal, and failed to use his pace to beat his man down the line. Instead he chose to cut inside and look to create a chance that way. From his time at Marseille, we have seen his quick he is, but he failed to use one of his strongest attributes to beat a player. I am sure there is more to come from N’Koudou, but I will give him a D for now.
