After seeing Toby Alderweireld stretchered off in the 1-1 draw with West Brom on Saturday, Mauricio Pochettino will be forced to either play Eric Dier or Kevin Wimmer alongside Jan Vertonghen at the heart of the Spurs defence on Tuesday night, and possibly for a longer period of time.
With Vertonghen being the only first-choice centre-back available, it will be his job to command the defence and take control at the back. It is crucial that the home fans are kept quiet in Germany, a country which the fans play a big part in matches, so it is important that we do not go behind early.
