3 Reasons Why Spurs Can Win The Premier League Title This Season

Spurs closed the gap at the top to just a single point at the weekend, beating table-toppers Manchester City by two goals to nil. The win saw Spurs at their very best, and will give the whole squad a confidence boost. Here are three reasons why Spurs can win the Premier League title.

Up until the Manchester City game, Spurs were far from their very best, but going that titanic tussle with Pep Guardiola’s side, the Lilywhites found themselves second in the Premier League table without even playing their best football.

Think back to the first game of the season away at Everton. In the first half of that game, Spurs were awful, and they were for sixty minutes. The introduction of Vincent Janssen livened things up a bit in the second half and we looked like a team that could go on and win the game in the latter stages after Erik Lamela’s leveller.

Although we only managed to get a draw, a point was a very good result, especially away at Everton, which is a very tough place to go and considering we were dire for the most part.

We then managed to grab a late winner against Palace, and did the same against Sunderland, although not playing our best football, eventually breaking down teams that have come to White Hart Lane to defend. Grabbing a point whilst playing far from our best at home to a strong and dangerous Liverpool side has also proved to be a great result.

The win at Middlesbrough wasn’t particularly convincing in the second half, but we managed to see the game out successfully. Spurs haven’t managed to win game ugly over the past few seasons, and this is a trait much needed if you are going to make a push for the Premier League title.
