Report: Spurs in pole position to sign £43m-rated midfielder in the ‘next week’

Antonio Conte and Director of Football Fabio Paratici could combine to be an excellent pair for Tottenham in the transfer market, as Paratici continues his raid on Serie A.

Spurs could be about to land a bargain in £43million-rated Franck Kessie, by signing him for nothing on a pre-contract in just a few days.

We’ve previously brought you news from Italy about Tottenham’s interest in Kessie. It seems he is a long-standing, key target for the club.

Kessie will see his contract expire at AC Milan at the end of the season and Spurs appear to be at the front of the list to sign the Ivorian. He will be allowed to sign a pre-contract with foreign clubs from January 1, and Spurs may even try to bring him in in January by giving Milan a small fee. Kessie would be a great signing and his physicality would make him a good fit for the Premier League.

According to the Daily Express, Spurs are in pole position to land this bargain signing and they are set to make a move in the next week.

According to the same report, the 25-year-old is also reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United and Arsenal, so Spurs will need to offer a strong financial package and move quickly in order to secure their man. There’s no doubt that having Conte at the helm will play a big part in helping to choose the white side of North London.
