The South Korean chose to stay at Spurs after returning from the Olympics, and has now established himself as a regular in the first team under Mauricio Pochettino, but this will not end Wolfsburg’s interest in the attacker.

Reports emerged over the summer that German outfit Wolfsburg had made a £24m bid for Son, but the decision made by Son to stay and fight for his place ended the possibility of any potential deal that could have been struck in the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old has really stepped up this season, scoring doubles in the games away at Stoke and Middlesbrough as well as changing games for the better against Sunderland and West Ham. However, a vital miss against Monaco in the Champions League has put a cloud over his recent blistering form.

It is highly unlikely that Mauricio Pochettino will let Son go during the January, and it will surely take a bid upwards of £30m or a considerable advance of the £24m rejected bid in the summer for Spurs to even consider selling up.
