Spurs waved goodbye to Champions League football at Wembley on Wednesday night with a 3-1 win over CSKA Moscow, securing a place in the Europa League last 32.
Tottenham fell behind in the first half just after the half-hour mark courtesy of a Alan Dzagoev goal, but Spurs came from behind to grab the three points and nail down third spot in the group. Dele Alli fired Spurs level with a neat finish, before Danny Rose drilled a lovely ball across goal for Harry Kane to put into the back of the net just before the break.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men continued their domination in the second half, and doubled their lead with thirteen minutes to go when Dele Alli’s header was turned into the net by CSKA Moscow keeper Igor Akinfeev. Spurs will go into the Europa League last 32 draw as a seeded team following the win.
Goalscorer Dele Alli received a lot of praise on social media after his performance. The Englishman had seven shots, won 50% of his tackles and won all of his aerial duels over the ninety minutes. This is how Spurs fans reacted to his display at Wembley.

That’s two win on the bounce for Spurs now as they continue their recovery from two consecutive crushing losses at Monaco and Chelsea. They will be aiming for a third straight victory when they head to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.
