The previous Saturday we’d dominated Arsenal in winning the North London derby, following on from that we took the trip up to Anfield on Tuesday night feeling high and believing we would make it 2 big victories in succession. From the first whistle it was an end-to-end tussle, you attack then we attack. Liverpool got a lucky lead when Lazar Markovic’s shot bounced up in front of Hugo Lloris to go into the corner. We levelled up before HT courtesy of, of course, Harry Kane. Then in the Second Half we were the victim of another dubious penalty when Danny Rose challenged Daniel Sturridge when there appeared to be minimal contact, Steven Gerrard converted the spot kick to make it 2-1.

But we fought back again, when Eriksen’s free-kick was chipped to Kane, who laid it off for Mousa Dembele to make it 2-2. But as the game neared its end we started to tire and run out of energy and we couldn’t prevent another goal as Mario Balotelli scored the winner to send us back empty-handed despite a battling display.
