Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor has said that a ‘dark moment’ in his career is over, and that he is fully committed to playing for Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino.

“I went through a little bit of a dark moment in my career but now I am back training hard and that’s it,”

“A lot of things went wrong. We are all human beings. We all go through a lot at certain time of our lives.”

“I think I have learned from it. I went through a lot of family issues. Now it is behind me and I am back on the football pitch. I am very glad to be back.

“I am available. I’m not 21 years old any more. I am 31 and I look at things differently. I just have to help my team and show respect for them and show respect for the club.”

A lot of controversy has surrounded the Spurs man this season, and it all started off when he hit out at the Tottenham fans for a poor atmosphere created at White Hart Lane, saying that he would rather play away from home. This soon turned into a spat with the Tottenham Supporters’ Trust.

Reports then emerged from the dressing room that Adebayor was chatting happily to the Newcastle players immediately after Spurs’ 2-1 defeat at home to then Alan Pardew’s side, and reports claimed that he even invited some of the French members of the Newcastle squad into the Tottenham dressing room.

The striker made his first appearance in almost two months for Spurs in their defeat to Manchester United on Sunday, and Adebayor hopes that he will be more involved in the near future after overcoming some difficult times.
