What Exactly Is Mauricio Pochettino’s Best Team?

Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris:

Lloris has pulled some stupendous saves throughout this season, many of which have saved points in the process. To be honest, it would be stupid not to start him in every Premier League game possible. Hopefully we can hang onto the Frenchman in the summer with the big clubs reportedly readying summer transfer window bids.

Defence: Kyle Walker, Federico Fazio, Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose:

Kyle has been solid and has offered something going forward as well as being defensively sound, which is hard to do immediately after coming back after a very long spell on the sidelines through injury. However, I think the former Sheffield United defender has returned to the form he showed before his injury last season.

After a few red cards, Federico Fazio has settled in at Tottenham after a summer move, and his defensive record when playing alongside Jan Vertonghen is second to none. They have clearly formed a good partnership at the heart of the Spurs defence.

Danny Rose has gone from strength to strength this season, and the competition that Ben Davies is giving him has clearly helped him improve as a player. He has shown his attacking qualities this season, and has the potential to get even better under Pochettino, who the left-back has spoken very highly of this season.

Midfield (Holding): Nabil Bentaleb, Ryan Mason:

These two have formed the perfect partnership in the midfield this season, and work together extremely well in the middle of the park. As I have mentioned many times before, Bentaleb is very good at providing an extra protective layer in front of the back line, and Ryan Mason can push forward and add something different to the attack as a result of this.

The majestic midfield duo will only get better, and hopefully this partnership can go on into the future under boss Mauricio Pochettino.
