2) Jose Baxter
Baxter is a midfield anchor that everybody in League One and possibly the Championship wouldn’t mind having in their squad. Without the terrible tackles in midfield, he reminds me of a Lee Cattermole in the way he picks the ball up before making that pass that turns a dead-ball situation into an attacking situation, setting the team on the front foot.
He operates in that defensive role, and we will need the Mauricio Pochettino pressing style to close him down before he has time to run through the midfield and pick out that killer pass. He had a good game against MK Dons on Saturday, and didn’t do too much wrong throughout the ninety minutes.
