THREE Things Pochettino’s Men Must Do To Reach Wembley

2) Use The Pace Of Our Wingers Effectively

On Wednesday we evidently saw that the game was slow and lacked a lot of pace. Seems deluded considering the pace we have in the squad like Townsend, Walker and Rose. We need to use this pace on the counter more effectively.

Instead of slowing the game down, we need to counter with speed using our wide men to our advantages. We saw the impact that Townsend had against Burnley when he came on, his speed and ability to cross the ball has definitely found form this season and with Kane up front, this would be a threatening force.

However, Pochettino played Rose and Walker too high up the pitch last game. With the uncertain partnership of especially Kaboul and Fazio, the lack in communication and vulnerability at the back was not support by Rose and Walker. Again the pace needs to be used both defensively and offensively, if we use this to our advantage then I’m sure we will end the night victorious.
