THREE Things Pochettino’s Men Must Do To Reach Wembley

1) Quick And Crisp Passing

After Wednesday’s disappointing performance in the first leg. One problem that was highlighted was the lack of intensity in the passing going into the final third. Due to the lack of creative and quick minded passing, it allowed Sheffield to re-organise which caused us problems due to their defensive solidity.

In order to unlock Sheffield we need to be more clinical in our passing. Although we know Pochettino’s philosophy involves starting to play from the back, another aspect of passing which did not help us was the amount of passing backwards or sideways. This, again, gave time to structure their defensive line and continue to defend.

With keeping pressure on the Sheffield in the final third we should be able to open up the defence with the likes of Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane. If we pass with urgency like we did against Chelsea and Everton earlier this season then it’s almost a certainty that we will progress to the final.
