It was another poor performance from Tottenham as they lost again after the Europa League. Two first-half goals from Stoke gave them a two-goal lead, making sure that Nacer Chadli’s sweet strike on the volley was no more than a consolation goal for Mauricio Pochettino and his side. In the aftermath of the game, our old passionate friend Tim Sherwood made a brief appearance on Twitter. During his reign at Spurs, Sherwood said many things about the squad, including that the squad lacked variation, and it was all ‘much of a muchness’. Many fans now agree with our former boss, and now say that he has a point. Sherwood was relieved of his duties as Tottenham head coach after six months, despite holding an eighteen-month contract, a contract that nobody could picture him seeing out. The blame wasn’t put onto Mauricio Pochettino though, some put the blame on the players, and some on the team upstairs. Here is the full Twitter reaction.
Sherwood’s comments about which way the club is heading in and the passion of our players were absolutely bang on the money. I’ve said it.

3 managers have worked with these players and Levys stingy transfer dealings and we honestly think this mess is Poch’s fault? Incredible.

Everything Sherwood said about our players is true

AVB wanted Moutinho, Willian and Hulk. Pochettino wanted Musacchio, Schneiderlin and Welbeck. Why is Baldini still at our club?

It can’t get much lower than this can it??

Capoue HAS to be dropped. No one shields the defence, which is shaky at best.

Fans will be a lot more patient if they can see an obvious pattern or style to the play. If it takes malleable youngsters to do that, fine.

We never learn, do we? It’s not Pochettino. If anyone is to blame, it’s the people upstairs. They promise a lot, but often fail to deliver.

I called for Dembele to come on at half time but that was one of the worst I’ve ever seen from him – would put Stambouli ahead of him now.
