New signing Moussa Sissoko stole Erik Lamela’s starting spot on Sunday, and its fair to say didn’t put in the best of performances in his first start in a Tottenham shirt and first appearance at White Hart Lane.
Lamela featured for a small portion of the game on Sunday, and could be in line to start in the game against Gillingham. The Argentine will be keen to make an impression on Pochettino as it looks like it could be a straight shootout for starting spots between him and £30m man Sissoko.
The 24-year-old will be raring to go for Wednesday night to see if he can regain the starting spot he held in the game against Monaco, but the error he made in the first half for the first goal certainly didn’t do him any favours at all.
