4 – Moussa Sissoko
If a move for Zaha fails it appears that Tottenham may turn their attentions to Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko. Despite reported interest from several high-profile clubs, Sissoko, who impressed at Euro 2016, still finds himself at Championship side Newcastle. Surely he will move on deadline day and with Spurs reportedly interested, don’t write this one off. Sissoko is another player that is incredibly inconsistent and also suffers from attitude problems. Mauricio Pochettino is great at getting the best out of players though and as we saw at the Euros, when he’s on form, Sissoko can be a top quality player. If he costs £20million it could turn out to be a waste or a bargain depending on which Sissoko turns up. The very latest breaking reports from Sky Sports suggest that Tottenham have cooled their interest due to Newcastle’s £30million valuation. Let’s see what happens. Despite a poor season from Sissoko and Newcastle, he still managed to notch up 7 assists but scored just 1 goal. There’s clear potential there, the question is whether he could fulfil that potential at Tottenham because for anything near £30million, he would need too.
