Spurs kick off their FA Cup campaign for this season with a home tie against Aston Villa. Spurs come into this game in good form, having won their last five in all competitions.
Mauricio Pochettino has no fresh injury concerns ahead of this one. Erik Lamela is still out with a hip injury, which he has flown back to Rome for further treatment on. Here is the Spurs predicted line-up to face Villa.
GK: Michel Vorm
For rotational purposes, I think that Vorm will start here for Spurs in between the sticks. He filled in well when Lloris was injured at the start of the season, and deserves a chance to impress here.
RB: Kieran Trippier
The right-back was on fire against Watford. He was the creator of the first and second goals from a wing-back position. The cross for the second was exquisite, and I think he will start again here.
CB: Kevin Wimmer
We have heard reports that Kevin Wimmer will not be going out on loan over the January transfer window, and with any potential loan move off, I expect Wimmer to feature in the starting line-up against Villa.
CB: Cameron Carter-Vickers
Although many fans feel the FA Cup should be valued just as much as the Premier League, it is also a chance to rotate the squad and play some of the youngsters. I was impressed with Carter-Vickers in the EFL Cup against Gillingham, and I look forward to a similar performance here.
LB: Ben Davies
We have not seen too much of Ben Davies recently, apart from a cameo role against Watford so Danny Rose could be rested for the Chelsea game. I think he will play from the start here.
