Recent reports in France have made strong claims that Hugo Lloris’ contract has a couple of clauses saying that the goalkeeper has a release clause of £14.5m in his contract, and this would be triggered if Spurs do not qualify for the Champions League.

Playing in the Champions League is something thought to be very important to the Frenchman, but the Metro have rubbished these reports, saying that he could snub moves elsewhere to stay at White Hart Lane.

The Metro report that Lloris has no such clauses in his current contract at Spurs, and he is keen to stay at White Hart Lane and chase Champions League football for another season under Mauricio Pochettino.

If these reports have any truth to them, then it will come as a huge blow to both Manchester United and Real Madrid, who have both been tipped to make bids for the French stopper.

Reports suggest that Spurs are not willing to sell the 28-year-old, who has been crucial to them this season. Lloris has played every minute of Tottenham’s Premier League campaign, with the exception of Spurs’ latest game against Leicester when he was stretchered off after just four minutes.
