Spurs are looking to hijack Leicester’s move for the Manchester City striker according to reports. The Sun claim that Tottenham are interested in making a move for Iheanacho, and could use this to speed up a process that would see Kyle Walker move to the Etihad this summer.

Iheanacho has been starved of game time at the Etihad under Pep Guardolia and is looking for more first team minutes. He now finds himself as third choice striker behind Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero, and is reportedly growing frustrated by the situation.

Spurs meanwhile are on the lookout for sufficient backup for Harry Kane. Vincent Janssen was drafted in from Holland last summer for £17m, but has failed to hit the ground running in the Premier, scoring just once from open play. The signing of Ineanacho could pave the way for Janssen to end his Tottenham nightmare if that is what he wishes to do.

The Nigerian striker is thought to be worth around £20m, and could be used in a player-plus-cash deal. Negotiations in the Walker to City deal have come to a standstill as Daniel Levy is asking for £50m for Walker. This move would help to push the move through and would be an excellent addition to the Spurs squad.
