The 3-5-2 Starting XI Mauricio Pochettino Must Play If Spurs Are To Beat Chelsea

CM: Mousa Dembele

Dembele was left out of the side against Watford on the bench, possibly in preparation for this game? He can change games with his strong running as we saw at Arsenal, and he can break up the play extremely well in midfield. He should start in the midfield for Spurs.

CM: Victor Wanyama

Wanyama has been playing very well recently, and he partnered Dembele in midfield at Stamford Bridge. The pair of them controlled the midfield in the first 45 minutes. If they could do it then, they could do it again here.

CAM: Christian Eriksen

Eriksen has also been in good form. He created five chances against Watford on Sunday, and his creativity will be needed to break down what is an extremely strong Chelsea defence that has conceded just 13 goals in the Premier League this season.

ST: Dele Alli

This may seem a little bit strange, Dele Alli playing up front. However, I expect that he could play a similar role to Heung-min Son up top. Or he could drop a little deeper at times to pick up the ball and supply Kane. Five in his last three for Spurs, can he continue his great form.

ST: Harry Kane

We talked about how Alli could drop deeper to supply Kane, but having the two of them up top also could work the other way in Kane supplying Alli if Kane can hold the ball up well. Kane has also been in terrific form, scoring three in his last two.
