3 – Nicolas Gaitan
Probably one of the most regularly players to be linked with a move to England, but it hasn’t happened yet. Maybe Tottenham should change that. Whilst the clubs full backs are amongst the best in the division, there is definitely a lack of quality in wide areas, especially in depth. A player of Gaitan’s quality should definitely considered. According to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham have enquired about taking the Atletico Madrid winger on loan. They do however say that Simeone intends to keep hold of the 28-year-old.
But aged 28, I’m not sure Gaitan will be happy to remain a bit part player in Spain. He’s started just 3 games in La Liga this season and made only 6 more sub appearances. In the prime of his career, the Argentinean needs to go to a club where he is playing regularly. I think Tottenham would be a very good fit.
