The Lilywhites fell behind midway through the first half as Michail Antonio headed in from close range, and failed to recover in the first half, going into the break a goal down.

Spurs started the second half with a much higher tempo, and were rewarded six minutes into the second half. Vincent Janssen saw his strike saved by Darren Randolph, but Harry Winks on his full debut was there to score with the follow up.

Vincent Janssen was caught pulling Winston Reid in the box and Mike Dean pointed to the spot for the Dutchman’s infringement. Manuel Lanzini stepped up to fire the Hammers ahead once again.

Dele Alli and Heung-min Son were brought on by Mauricio Pochettino and both had positive impacts, especially the latter. Son did well down the left and pulled back for Harry Kane to tap in with just a couple of minutes of normal time to go.

Son got down the right again just a minute later and was brought down inside the box. Mike Dean correctly pointed to the spot again and Harry Kane kept calm to score his third goal in two games since returning from injury.

Harry Winks made his full debut and impressed many with an excellent display. The youngster looked to make a difference from the start and was involved in Spurs’ best moves more often than not.

Winks was the brightest spark when others looked uninspiring, and was unlucky not to receive the Man of the Match award, and surely would have done if Harry Kane had not popped up with two late goals. Here is how Spurs fans reacted to Winks’ first Premier League start.
