Player Ratings- How Well Have The Spurs Players Performed So Far This Season?

Hugo Lloris- 8

The Frenchman has made a good start to the season, and has made some top class saves to keep our defensive record in tip-top shape. We all hope for more of the same from Lloris after the international break.

Michel Vorm- 7

Many, myself included, were a little unsure of whether our defensive record would suffer with Michel Vorm in goal, but I am glad to say that he proved us all wrong. His performance against Liverpool stood out, and we conceded just one goal when Vorm was between the sticks, and that was from the penalty spot. I certainly have more confidence in our second-choice keeper than I did at the start of the season.

Kyle Walker- 8

Contender for most-improved player over the summer, and has made an excellent start to the campaign. Not only has he shown that he can do his defensive job more than well enough, but he can also cause many problems for left-backs and wingers going forward. A great start for Walker.

Kieran Trippier- 7

Has looked good and much more of a threat going forward than last season, and has done a great job whenever he has been called upon this season whether it has been in the Champions League or in the EFL Cup, providing this vital squad depth needed if we are the challenge at the top this season.

Toby Alderweireld- 9

Certainly up there with the best defenders in the Premier League. The Belgian has been our most consistent player this season, and has made some crucial tackles, as well as making a difference at the other end, proving to be a huge threat from corners.

Jan Vertonghen- 8

Has been a good centre-back partner for Alderweireld, who he has built up a good relationship with at the back. The clean sheet against Manchester City a couple of weeks ago spoke volumes about just how good our defence is, and it is not just by luck that we have the best defensive record in the Premier League.

Danny Rose- 8

Rose has looked good in the games he has played in and I thought he played very well against Manchester City, and got embroiled in that battle with Raheem Sterling that threatened to boil over a couple of times. A good start to the season for Rose, who has seen his season disrupted already by injury.

Ben Davies- 7

Rose has had a hamstring injury picked up during the international break, and Davies has had no problems at all filling in for the England international. Like Trippier, he is challenging for a first team place and is providing that all important squad depth as well as healthy squad competition.
