Jan Vertonghen:
He missed Burnley and Aston Villa and Spurs lost, but when Vertonghen returned for the game against Newcastle, Spurs looked liked they had the defensive solidity that was lacking in the previous games. If Tottenham expect to get anything from this game, they need Vertonghen on top of his game, leading the defense and stifling the attack.
Not only that, but when he is in the starting eleven, the rest of the defense plays better and Eric Dier improves drastically next to the man they call “SuperJan”. Hopefully, he will be able to stay on for next season and be apart of a new, young and exciting Spurs team.
