3 perfect replacements for Eriksen, who must leave in January

Christian Eriksen is set to leave Tottenham with the Danish international still yet to sign a contract extension.

His current deal will expire at the end of the season and there are no signs that he will sign an extension. His performances in recent weeks have been very poor, indicating his heart is no longer with the club and Spurs should look to cash in sooner rather than later.

But who can replace one of Tottenham’s most influential attacking players? Here we explore three potential solutions.

Leverkusen have not started the season in great form, but Havertz has still looked the spark in the team. Like Eriksen, he can play as a number ten or out on the wings.

Kai would be a statement signing and aged just 20, the club would easily be able to recoup a large amount of his transfer fee even if a move didn’t work out for whatever reason.

Likely to play a part in Germany’s Euro 2020 campaign, Havertz will catch the eye of several top European clubs this summer, and so Spurs would have to move fast to sign him.
