Tottenham should beat Arsenal to top quality Premier League signing

Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser is on Arsenal’s summer hitlist according to the Daily Mirror, but the player is also being watched by Tottenham.

Fraser would cost around £20million considering he has just one year left on his current contract. The Scotland international is showing no signs of extending his current deal, so Bournemouth will surely look to cash in this summer, but the player will have no shortage of suitors.

This creates a great opportunity to pick up a Premier League proven player for a fraction of his value. At the time of writing no player has more assists in the league than Fraser (12). His productivity in front of goal is there for all to see and aged just 25, there’s still room for improvement.

Tottenham often rotate their wide players and Fraser joining would give the team yet another option. He’s best on the left wing, but also more than capable at playing as a number 10 or on the right wing.

His tenacity and pace would fit in really well at Tottenham and provide the squad with some much needed depth.

This season is the latest example of Spurs not having the firepower to sustain a title challenge. Their lack of depth, especially in attacking areas, has proven to be a sucker punch to their title bid.

For me, Fraser is not world class, but he would add much needed depth and quality to the club. Considering he is already proven in the Premier League and available for a comparatively low price, it’s a no brainer.

Just look at our defeat against West Ham. The lack of attacking quality in wide areas was very evident. Spurs failed to test the West Ham full backs, despite them being a clear weak link in the Hammers back four.
