It is hard to believe that the former MK Dons star is just 21 years of age still. Alli’s time at Spurs began with a bang and a goal away at Leicester in August of the 2015-16 season, and the youngster continued fantastic form for the rest of the season and the next.
However, the season just past has been a tough one for Alli. Numerous off the field issues and his fair share of diving scandals, not backed up by the blistering form of previous seasons, Alli his earned himself criticism from many fanbases.
Despite this, the season will have been a massive learning curve for the youngster, and he will come back next season a much better player and person from it. The 21-year-old might get a small break from the criticism while on international duty at the World Cup for England, and this will be a chance for him to rediscover the blistering form he displayed in his first two Premier League seasons.
With Harry Kane’s big money deal penned a couple of weeks ago, Alli must now be in line for a pay rise and a new deal. Hopefully, this will get done before the new Premier League season kicks off.
