3 Signings Tottenham Could Complete In The Next 7 Days

The New Year brings with it the excitement of the January mid-season transfer window. As we edge ever closer to 2017, clubs will have already identified their key targets and will be looking to make their moves. Here are three transfers Tottenham could complete in the opening week of the January transfer window.

Despite scoring yesterday in the 2-2 draw with Hull, Ronald Koeman has not been impressed with midfielder Ross Barkley in recent weeks, and while he is still rated at £30m by others clubs, Everton could be tempted to sell up during the January transfer window if the price is right.

Reports last week had suggested that if Spurs were to contact that Toffees about a potential move, Koeman would try for a straight swap deal. A deal that would see Barkley move to North London and Koeman finally land his target Moussa Sissoko after dramatically missing out on the Frenchman back in the summer.

However, this swap deal is highly unlikely, and if these reports are correct that Koeman is keen on this swap deal, I am sure he will learn in the very near future that Sissoko is not for sale and will not be used in any transfer deal. A bold big of £30m or higher from Daniel Levy at the very start of the transfer window would surely make a good start to negotiations, and we could see a swift deal.

From what I have seen from Barkley this season, he is not worth the £30m that it will take to bring him to White Hart Lane. He may add a bit of squad depth, but not much more. He is no better than what we already have in the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen. A £30m deal would be a huge mistake, but who knows, it could happen.
