‘Absolute Monster’ Spurs Fans Rave Over Midfielders Performance In Draw With Arsenal

Spurs recovered from a poor string of performances to put in a spirited performance and snatch a point off Arsenal at the Emirates in the North London derby. There was one player that caught the eye of the Tottenham fans during the 1-1 draw, and fans were full of praise for him on Twitter.

Spurs went into the game having not won since October 2, and although that record remains, Mauricio Pochettino will have been the happier of the two managers given Spurs’ recent form. When will Spurs get their next win? Check out the latest football tips.

Mauricio Pochettino needed a bigger performance from his Spurs players, and with injuries to key players such as Erik Lamela and Dele Alli, Pochettino lacked natural width in his side. To deal with this burning issue, the Spurs boss set his team up in a 3-4-3 formation. The three centre-backs managed to deal with most of what Arsenal threw at them, and the wing-backs caused problems down the other end. All in all, it was a good performance from Spurs, and it makes you wonder, will Pochettino go on into November and beyond with a 3-4-3 formation?

A Kevin Wimmer howler handed Arsenal the lead just before the break, in what was arguably Arsenal’s best spell of the match, having dealt with an early Spurs storm, that saw Harry Kane head just wide of the post.

However, Spurs came out from the break the stronger of the two sides, and Mousa Dembele made a strong run into the box before winning a penalty. Harry Kane stepped up on his return to earn Spurs a share of the spoils on his return from injury, going down the middle from twelve yards out.

Mousa Dembele earned the Man of the Match award in the derby, and rightly so in my opinion. He provided excellent protection for the Spurs back three. He completed 89% of his passes, made two interceptions and three blocks in what was an excellent performance from the Belgian. Here is how Spurs fans reacted to the magnificent display.
