Player Ratings: CSKA Moscow 0-1 Spurs – Son Shines Again

After losing the opening group game against Monaco, Spurs recovered well to go and win 1-0 at CSKA Moscow courtesy of another Heung-min Son strike with just under twenty minutes remaining.

It was the South-Korean’s fifth goal in all competitions this season in a big win in Moscow, and here are the Spurs player ratings.

Hugo Lloris- 7

In the grand scheme of things, Lloris didn’t have too much to do in all honesty, but what he did have to do, he did well and kept a clean sheet with a good couple of saves.

Kieran Trippier- 7

Came in for Kyle Walker, and performed very well, he constantly looked to get down the right-hand side and cause problems, and did exactly that, getting a few good crosses into the box.

Toby Alderweireld- 7

Him and Vertonghen had their hands full all evening, having to deal with the physical presence of Lacina Traore, and they kept the striker fairly quiet, with Alderweireld making a crucial tackle in the first half.

Jan Vertonghen- 7

Also did very well in keeping Traore quiet, and seemed to be man-marking him in the first period, the Belgian won a few crucial duels in a good performance.

Ben Davies- 7

With Danny Rose still out with that hamstring injury, Ben Davies still continues to provide excellent cover. Another solid performance from the Welshman.

Victor Wanyama- 6

Made a few strong tackles, and survived after picking up an early yellow card. However, the Kenyan gave the ball away too many times in the midfield for my liking.

Dele Alli- 7

Played in a deeper role, but when we had the ball, he looked to be just as much of an attacking presence as the front four, and did that very well. Was unlucky to see his first half effort crash off the crossbar.
