Tottenham managed to get a couple of signings over the line late in the window (very late in Sissoko’s case) whilst the long awaited arrival of Georges-Kévin N’Koudou was confirmed on the eve of Deadline Day.
Tottenham may not have got their first choice targets, or players of the very highest calibre – but a couple of shrewd additions have arrived. In Sissoko, Spurs may have overpaid, but they have a player that if managed correctly, can be a really useful asset to any Premier League squad. As we saw last season though, if his mind isn’t in it, he’s pretty much useless, so Pochettino will have to work his managerial magic to make this one worth the £30million investment. Sissoko’s ability to play as a wide player and also through the middle will come in handy for sure as Pochettino looks to negotiate the added stress of Champions League football for the first time in his Spurs tenure. We had waited long enough for the next set of photos. N’Koudou had reportedly been close to a move to Tottenham for several weeks, but with just two days left before the window shut, Tottenham finally confirmed the move for an undisclosed fee, thought to be around £12million. He is much less of a risk, aged 21, N’Koudou has time on his side to develop under Poch and become a top class winger. He is thought of as a player with a lot of potential, but with a lot of work still to do. Don’t expect much instant impact from him, because he is more than anything, one for the future.
