Yes Gooners we know, you’ll say you always say it and we never learn, but this season is different for many reasons that I will explain below.
1. A Better Defence
Whilst Arsenal struggle to find a suitable defensive partner for Laurent Koscielny, Tottenham already have theirs sorted, and it’s brilliant. The Belgian duo of Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen have formed an unbreakable bond at the heart of defence and there is no denying that they are a better partnership than anything Arsenal could put on the field right now. On top of that, Spurs have Hugo Lloris, who is at least as good as Petr Cech. Full backs is an area where Arsenal are strong, but so are Spurs, with the ever-improving English duo of Kyle Walker and Danny Rose consistently impressing over the last 18 months.
