With all the talk about how good Chelsea and the Manchester sides will be next season, everyone is forgetting how dangerous Tottenham are and just how close they came to Premier League glory last season. Here’s three reasons I think they are better equipped than last season to win it.
1 – Squad
Ultimately Tottenham’s title collapse last season started when their midfield was dismantled by injuries and suspensions. In general, Tottenham struggled when they were missing one or two key players and didn’t have the squad to adapt. This season will be different. Pochettino has respected the quality of his current squad when making new signings, he acknowledges he already has a starting eleven that can go far, but they needed better rotation options to ease the pressure off of the likes of Harry Kane, Eric Dier and Dele Alli. Vincent Janssen and Victor Wanyama have signed and they are both quality players that are more than good enough to start when required. The imminent arrival of N’Koudou from Marseille will add more attacking depth and a different dimension to Pochettino’s frontline. The club are well equipped for the long hall.
