The search for a new striker is well and truly underway, and the most recent to be linked is the impressive young Swiss attacker, Breel Embolo. The Telegraph say Tottenham are seriously considering a move for the impressive youngster, who has already gained 9 international caps at the age of 19.

Embolo is an exciting talent, able to play on the wing or as a striker. He has excelled at FC Basel both domestically and in the Europa League where he scored twice and made one assist in 8 outings. Domestically he has been more prolific, scoring 10 goals in 27 games this season, playing mostly as a right-winger. Although Embolo is mostly utilised on the right, there is a belief that he will develop into a very talented central striker and under Mauricio Pochettino’s guidance, he could very well fulfil his potential.

Embolo could be the perfect striker to alternate Kane with. The Swiss international is young enough to be ready to wait for his chance, but also established enough to score goals from the off. Embolo is widely regarded as one of the best young strikers in the world and Tottenham are likely to have to spend at least £20million to sign him, although that is likely to represent good value on the evidence of his quality thus far.

Embolo is a quick and tall (6ft 1′ and still growing!) striker who has been likened to Didier Drogba, should he bulk up a bit.
