Spurs Transfer Gossip! Spurs Set For Summer Sale, Alderweireld, Yedlin & More

After completing the signing of Kieran Trippier on Friday, our second signing of the summer after Kevin Wimmer, Spurs will be looking to make some more signings over the summer transfer window, as well as get rid of some of the deadwood. Here are the latest rumours surrounding Spurs.

The Telegraph claim that Tottenham could hold a massive summer clearout over the coming window, with ten players expected to leave. Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor are set to leave in a striking overhaul.

Paulinho, Benjamin Stambouli and Etienne Capoue could be sold in the centre of the midfield, and Vlad Chriches along with Younes Kaboul in the defence are not expected to make the cut. The club also are expected to sell Lewis Holtby. This would be a massive squad overhaul that Mauricio Pochettino obviously wants. The money earned from these transfers could be used to invest in new players now that Pochettino knows what areas of the pitch need strengthening for next season.

The Times claim that Spurs are very close to signing Atletico Madrid centre-back Toby Alderweireld, and also report that the defender has told his closest friends that he will be joining Tottenham this summer over the season after the club have reportedly told him that he would be first choice along with Jan Vertonghen.

Reports suggest that Tottenham will pay around £18m for the defender, and Southampton are set to rival this with a bid of the same amount, but Spurs remain confident that the Belgian will choose Tottenham over Southampton. Mauricio Pochettino has experimented with many partners for Jan Vertonghen at the back, but so far, none have been consistently successful, and are targeting Alderweireld to partner his fellow Belgian at the heart of the defence.

DeAndre Yedlin Set For Loan Move To Premier League Club (The Telegraph)

Kieran Trippier signing for Tottenham Hotspur has left fans mulling over whether they would prefer to see Kyle Walker leave the club on a permanent deal, or American right-back DeAndre Yedlin move to a Premier League club on a loan deal.

A journalist of The Telegraph reckons that has the answer to this question, and believes that Tottenham will be loaning DeAndre Yedlin out to another Premier League club hoping that the right-back will come back having adapted to life in the Premier League and English football. Norwich have been linked with a move for the American and that could be his destination come the end of the summer transfer window, as the journalist has suggested in a recent tweet.

Mourinho Interested In Dembele (The Sun)

The Sun believe that Jose Mourinho is interested in Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele, and could make a bid in the coming weeks, and Spurs value the Belgian at around £12m, which is what Mourinho is intending to bid for the midfielder.

Dembele has fallen out of favour under current Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, and is becoming a little frustrated with the playing time he is receiving at White Hart Lane. However, many of the first team minutes he has been handed have come in the cup competitions such as the Capital One Cup and the Europa League, with the partnership of Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb very hard to break in the middle of the park.
