Despite Emmanuel Adebayor recently taking to Twitter to express his interest in staying at Tottenham for another season, Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino are in agreement that the club should be looking to get the striker off their wage bill.
The striker is reportedly paid £100,000-per-week at Spurs, and The Telegraph claim that Spurs are very keen to get the striker off their wage bill, who is currently third choice behind Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado.
Daniel Levy is reportedly looking to sell the striker for a fee in the region of £5m, but may have to accept that he is not going to get that much for the Togo international, and is willing to accept an offer lower than £5m, and pay a percentage of his hefty £100,000-per-week wages to facilitate a move.
Just to put the move into perspective, the club interested in Adebayor will have to spend more on the striker’s wages for one year than the actual transfer fee, putting more emphasis on the need for Daniel Levy to contribute a percentage of his wages.
Clubs such as West Ham have previously been interested in the 30-year-old, but the striker’s wishes to stay as Tottenham have seen negotiations come to a stand-still in some cases. Will Emmanuel Adebayor leave Spurs this summer?
