Reports: Tottenham pushing to sign £108m Inter duo, contract situations make it possible

Tottenham’s raid on Serie A looks set to continue, at least if they will have their way.

Their new Director of Football has already acquired a new goalkeeper and defender from the Italian division and now it looks as if he wants to add a midfielder and forward.

It’s already been reported that Tottenham have agreed a £60m for Lautaro Martinez (who is valued at £72m), but there has been a lack of news on that one since it broke late last week.

Now FootballInsider have revealed that despite reports suggesting Inter will not sell Lautaro due to Lukaku’s imminent sale, Spurs are still working on this deal.

They say that Tottenham’s priority in attack is Lautaro and they remain hopeful that a deal can be done following the latest round of talks with his camp last night. Lautaro has just two years remaining on his contract at Inter and is believed to be keen on a move to the Premier League.

But the club’s raid on Inter may not end there, at least that’s according to Inter Live who say that Tottenham are interested in signing midfielder Marcelo Brozovic.

They reiterate that Inter are keen not to lose any more first-team players, but equally Brozovic contract situation makes him an intriguing option. Marcelo has just one year remaining on his contract at Inter and being valued at £36m, if he does not sign an extension, they may need to cash in, given their poor financial situation.

Interestingly in the same report, it links Inter with a move for Everton forward Moise Kean, so that could be a positive sign in Spurs’ hopes that the Serie A champions will let Lautaro leave the club.

Despite Inter’s tough public stance, the contract situations of both players (2 and 1 year remaining) will make it tough for the Italian side to turn down a big bid. Tottenham could be armed with cash if Harry Kane makes his move to Manchester City, so this is one to watch.
