Report: Tottenham agree stunning £60m signing that will shock the league

Tottenham appear set to spring a surprise in the transfer market this summer.

Not only are the club adamant that Harry Kane will continue, they now appear to set to add another top quality striker to their ranks to play alongside Kane.

That striker goes by the name of Lautaro Martinez from Inter Milan. Lauataro is very highly rated and alongside Romelu Lukaku helped fire Inter Milan to the Serie A title last season.

In a move that has somewhat come out of the blue, Tottenham have agreed a £60million fee for the Argentinean forward according to a report in The Times today.

The 23-year-old striker is valued at £72million on transfermarkt and add-ons would likely take that £60million fee closer to that valuation. But even at that price it would be viewed as a good investment for the club by many.

Arsenal had been heavily linked with the highly-rated forward, but it appears Tottenham have taken the first steps in the race to sign him.

Crucially though no personal terms have been agreed as of yet. Agreeing those terms will of course be the next stage for Spurs in negotiations.

Matt Law, reported last week that Inter Milan need to make another major sale this summer. They wanted to keep hold of Romelu Lukaku but he also looks set to leave the financially troubled Italian club, with a move back to Chelsea imminent.
