Ever since Kyle Walker left for Pep Guardolia’s Manchester City, Spurs have been on the lookout for a replacement right-back.

With Kyle Walker-Peters too young to be given such responsibility (his performance against Newcastle may counter-argue this) and Kieran Trippier’s performance against Burnley nothing short of disastrous, Mauricio Pochettino will be looking to get a new right-back through the door.

The deal for PSG’s Serge Aurier appears to be very close. According to Sky Sources, a £23m bid for Aurier has been accepted and everything seems to be in place for the deal to be completed except the player is yet to receive a UK work visa.

The London Evening Standard report that Aurier’s chances of getting a work permit have received a knock with the revlation that the player assaulted a police officer last year. Spurs were confident of hearing a decision today (Tuesday), but a decision might be delayed. Either way, the clock is ticking to get a new right-back in and Aurier looks to most likely player to join Spurs before the window closes on Thursday.
