Spurs travel to Anfield looking to close the gap on Premier League table-toppers Chelsea to six points, with Antonio Conte’s side not playing until Sunday.
In terms of team news, Jan Vertonghen and Erik Lamela are still out with long-term injuries, while news on Danny Rose is positive, but he will not be available for this one. However, Kieran Trippier may just recover in time to make the squad at Anfield. Here is the Spurs predicted line-up to face Liverpool.
GK: Hugo Lloris
Bar his couple of howlers against Manchester City a couple of weeks ago, Lloris has been excellent this season, and might have to be exactly that if Spurs are to win at Anfield.
RB: Kyle Walker
He might not get forward as much in this game as he would like to, but he has been so solid defensively this season I back him to deal with any threat coming down the Spurs right.
CB: Eric Dier
With Jan Vertonghen out, it will be up to Dier to partner Toby Alderweireld at the back once again at the heart of the defence. This has been a successful partnership thus far, and I can’t see any reason why that would change now.
CB: Toby Alderweireld
A real leader at the back, and he will an important figure for Tottenham as the defence looks to keep a clean sheet at Anfield on Saturday.
LB: Ben Davies
Will be standing in for the injured Danny Rose on Saturday. He might not offer quite the same attacking pace as Rose, but he more than makes up for that with his defensive skills. A more than capable deputy to cope with the challenge that Liverpool present.
