Spurs secured their third straight win since the international break with a nail-biting win at Middlesbrough, eventually coming out 2-1 winners.
Two more goals from Heung-min Son takes his tally for the season up to four as he shone again to fire Spurs to victory at the Riverside Stadium. Middlesbrough pulled a goal back in the second period, but Mauricio Pochettino’s men held on for the three points.
Spurs’ latest win takes them up to second place, four points behind pace-setters Manchester City, who won at Swansea 3-1 today. The two sides face each other next week at White Hart Lane in a mouth-watering clash.
This will be good preparation for the trip to CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Tuesday night as Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele and Danny Rose, who were injury doubts anyway, were rested at the Riverside.
Spurs fans took to Twitter following the win to hail Spurs’ outstanding unbeaten start to the season, and the tremendous form of Son Heung-min.
Superb Spurs – no Kane, Dembele, Rose or Dier and we still win. Upto 2nd! Huge performance ? Son last 2 games unreal! #COYS#THFC#MIDTOT

Such a dominant first hour from Spurs. Son is in ridiculous form right now. Shame that weak refereeing gave Boro a sniff, but dug in well.

We did it the spurs way. Domination, then allowed opposition back in. Finishing game with our hearts in our mouths. #COYS

Best ever start to a league season, remain unbeaten in the league, yet to concede from open play and up to second. YIDS. #COYS
