Finally, after years of waiting, the new Tottenham Hotspur stadium has been given the green light. For many of us, it’s a long time coming. But what does it mean for the club as a whole? With the club having a Capital One Cup final approaching, and sitting within touching distance of the coveted 4th place, things only look to be getting better for the lilywhites.

With the latest news allowing Spurs to press forward with the new stadium, the future looks bright. The funds being pushed into the new ground, around £600 million, transfers such as Erik Lamela and Paulinho won’t be seen for a while, but the improvement of the youth team provides fans with hope for the future, as well as first team players Harry Kane, Ryan Mason, Nabil Bentaleb, Christian Eriksen, Eric Dier, Kyle Walker developing into top class Premier League players under the stewardship of Mauricio Pochettino the first team looks certain to be top class for years to come.

The club needs to stick to the current plan of new stadium, young exciting players, coupled with a young exciting manager, and not act like the past few years of selling the best players and sacking managers who actually look like taking the club forward, and either letting Mr. Baldini go, or find a way to get him and Pochettino working hand in hand. The influx of youth provides the club with a bright future and I couldn’t think of anyone better than Pochettino to take the club forward.

Not only does the playing benefit from these events, the club will excel in terms of finance. Looking at the business models from clubs like Juventus, who almost doubled their revenue with the construction of the new stadium, Tottenham can learn from this and build themselves into one of the more sustainable clubs in the country and adhere to FFP rules. We don’t want to be like Arsenal and have a large stadium, and no fans, or no noise. We don’t want to build a library!

The fans are excited for what lays ahead, and with good reason. The Tottenham faithful will be upset to see the world famous White Hart Lane go, but when you sit down and look at everything, and see the direction the club is going, under the ever controversial Daniel Levy, the fans will realize the future is bright. The future is Lilywhite.
