Tottenham have been dealt a huge blow in their pursuit to sign Morgan Schneiderlin from Ronald Koeman’s Southampton. The current manager has said that no players will be leaving Southampton in the January window after the transfer madness that occurred on the coast in the summer.

Koeman has said that the Frenchman has accepted that he will not be leaving the Saints in the winter and will be staying with Southampton despite the frustration that he showed over the summer at not being allowed to leave the club. Without a win in December in the Premier League, if anything, the Saints will be looking to bolster their squad.

With the boss saying that no players will leave in New Year, this will deal a double blow to Spurs as their hopes to sign the injured Jay Rodriguez may have just been shattered. North London rivals Arsenal may have also had their hopes shattered as previous reports have suggested that they are Tottenham’s closest rivals to getting the signature of Morgan Schneiderlin.
