Whilst Mauricio Pochettino looks to join up again with the likes of Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Scneiderlin, who he worked with at Southampton, the Argentine boss could make a move for Mexican defender Hector Moreno, who was signed by Pochettino at Espanyol.

Tottenham have really been struggling at the back this season and with Vlad Chiriches possibly looking for a way out of White Hart Lane in January after admitting he is not happy at Spurs due to his lack of playing time this season, the North Londoners could be looking at calling in some reinforcements, and Moreno could be one of them.

Moreno was the subject of great interest over the summer transfer window, with Lazio, Stuttgart and Manchester United all reportedly  interested before the defender broke his leg in Mexico’s World Cup campaign in Brazil. The 26 year-old is set to make his return from injury next week and Espanyol could well cash-in on him in the January transfer window. He is rated at £6m and a move looks likely after many reports have said that the La Liga club are to sell up in the new-year.
