Tottenham certainly left it late to snatch three points from Aston Villa at Villa Park. An 83rd minute equalizer from Nacer Chadli and a 90th minute free-kick from substitute Harry Kane got us the three points in a feisty affair that saw Christian Benteke sent off after laying a hand on Ryan Mason.

Hugo Lloris- 7

Helpless for Villa’s goal there was no chance of him saving that, saved well afterwards when he needed to and swept up expertly as usual.

Danny Rose- 6

Often had a lot of room on the left but was too wasteful in his crosses, Got caught out of position several time as well

Jan Vertonghen- 6

Was often too carless in defence, had lots of problems against Benteke for the first half, not very impressive today

Younes Kaboul- 6

Also struggled marking Benteke, often panicked with very nervous clearances and didn’t show much solidity for large parts of the game at the back

Kyle Naughton- 6

Didn’t do much wrong defensively but was very cautious going forward, very nervous in his tackles as well, got overrun by Weimann on several occasions

Etienne Capoue- 5

Very disappointing today, failed to clear the cross for Villa’s goal, lost possession too often and kept getting overrun by Villa, game passed him by

Ryan Mason- 8

Kept  us from going further behind, only man who was driving the ball forward, and trying to get us back into the game, very rarely wasted the ball and won most of his tackles

Nacer  Chadli- 7

Was effective on both wings, created some good runs, scored at the crucial time for us which helped us win, solid showing

Andros Townsend- 6

Wasn’t on for long but he delivered some good crosses which troubled Villa, pace was effective cutting open Villa’s defence, won the free-kick for our winner too

Christian Eriksen- 5

Very poor showing, didn’t have a great influence on the game, couldn’t create any chances, very poor game by his standards

Erik Lamela- 6

Struggled to make an impact for much of the 2nd half, made some driving runs to create chances but wasn’t effective enough in the final third

Emmanuel Adebayor- 6

Had two golden chances that he should’ve scored, but wasted, drifted offside too often, wasn’t as strong in the air as he usually is

Roberto Soldado- 7

Had a couple of solid chances that he should’ve done better, looked much more comfortable playing in a 2 and worked well with both Adebayor and Kane

Harry Kane 8:

Made a fantastic impact when he came on, looked more positive in our attacks, gave Villa’s defence trouble with his pace and strength and brilliant goal to win it, keep it up, Harry
