Three Players That Tottenham Should Have Signed This Transfer Window

So, we are all aware of how Tottenham’s transfer window ended up. We may have signed a few players who will add to our team, but all in all we missed out on our key target of an out and out striker.

Furthermore, we still don’t have an experienced defensive midfielder, and we didn’t replace those who sadly left us this past window. The discussion of what certain people do behind the scenes is for another time, but for now, let’s just ponder on who Spurs should have signed in this past window.

Saido Berahino:

We know that this deal should have been done a long time ago, but why wasn’t it? Tottenham needed a striker, Tony Pulis and Berahino himself wanted the move to happen, it was just a case of two chairmen not seeing eye to eye. When we needed a striker so badly, and with only one recognized striker in our ranks, why didn’t we go all out for Berahino?

He would’ve added so much to us, and eased the pressure on Harry Kane up front, as well as more goals, which would usually mean more points, but he would add a pacier option up top. Just anything that isn’t Soldado and Adebayor!

Have Spurs Done Enough Business To Make A Push For The Top 4?

With two weeks remaining of the transfer window, there’s still plenty of opportunity left to get deals done as has happened may times over the years. Spurs are often the team to deliver deadline day drama, from Rafa Van Der Vaart to Scott Parker and even Hugo Lloris have all singed the Spurs dotted line in the final moments of the summer.

So the question is, now have we already finished our transfer business or do we still need to strengthen in certain areas? In terms of our defence, I feel we’ve added smartly with Alderweireld, Wimmer and Trippier adding quality and depth to the defence and competition for every position at the back.

I still feel we could do with a game-running midfield to complement the energy styles of Mason and Bentaleb. Dier has done well in these opening two games in the holding midfield position but I doubt we can rely on him throughout the season to keep up form in big matches. There have been murmurings in recent days that we’re eyeing up a move for Victor Wanyama, who fits the role we need very well and would be a class addition to the side.

Up front the addition of Clinton N’Jie is a shrewd, versatile signing but we do still require another striker to give support Harry Kane. If we do manage to get Saido Berahino, it would give us options of playing one or two up top and link-up together, which they’ve done very well in England U21 games.

If Wanyama and Berahino join us before deadline day, that would mean, in my opinion, we have a squad that is genuinely capable of challenging for a Top 4 finish this season. As ever, keep calm and Come on you Spurs!

Spurs And Liverpool Both Target West Brom Star

West Brom striker Saido Berahino could be set for a move to Tottenham or Liverpool this January as the striker looks to move away from the club.

The striker reportedly stopped talks of a new contract, and now the club are willing to grant his wish of moving to a bigger club.

New West Brom manager Tony Pulis could sell the striker as he embarks on what he describes as the biggest challenge of his career. The sale will give him some money to rebuild the West Brom squad as he battles against the drop.

The fee that Tottenham and Liverpool are looking at is around £20m, but Terry Burton, was originally holding the trasnsger back, but now he has changed his mind and decided that it is the right time to cash in.

Both clubs have been linked before the January transfer window with the England U-21 international, who has scored eight goals this season for the Baggies’.

EIGHT Players That Could Join Tottenham In January

Despite Mauricio Pochettino stating in a recent press conference that no new players are going to be signing for Tottenham in the New Year, we still think that with new head of recruitment and analysis Paul Mitchell, we can still pull off some mid-season deals.

These players are all gathered from recent news reports claiming that they could join Tottenham in January. Some of these are likely and unlikely to happen, we will be rating the likelihood of these transfers taking place throughout the post.

Tottenham Turn Attention To West Brom Star

Recent reports suggest that Tottenham have turned their attention to West Brom striker Saido Berahino after it was announced that their target Jay Rodriguez would not make his return from injury until Febuary.

It has been no secret that Spurs and Mauricio Pochettino are looking for a new striker to take to the White Hart Lane pitch with Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor not firing at their best at this moment in time.

Despite his form drying up a little, Saido Berahino made a fantastic start to the season, scoring some brilliant goals along the way, and could be just what Tottenham are looking for when it comes to choosing a striking target for the January window.

It has been reported that the injury setback of Jay Rodriguez could work to Southampton’s advantage, as they are desperate to keep the striker, and with the young English talent not returning to action until Febuary, it may not be until a year after the injury last April that he will be back to his best, if he ever gets back there that is.
