‘Unplayable’ Spurs Fans Delighted With This Man’s Performance vs Chelsea

Spurs blew the title race wide open with a 2-0 win over league leaders Chelsea at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night.

Antonio Conte’s side arrived at the home of Spurs off the back of thirteen straight wins in the Premier League, chasing a record of fourteen straight wins to beat a record set by Spurs’ North London rivals Arsenal.

Mauricio Pochettino matched Conte’s 3-4-3 system, and as a result, few chances came either team’s away in the first period in what was an evenly matched contest. Eden Hazard went closest for Chelsea, firing just wide in the early stages of the match.

The two sides looked to be going into the break on level terms, but it was Spurs who struck first in stoppage time. Christian Eriksen wasn’t closed down on the edge of the Chelsea box, whipped a lovely ball into the box, and there was Dele Alli, who headed beyond Thibaut Courtois to ensure Spurs went into the break a goal to the good.

Spurs would have expected Chelsea to make a fast start to the second half, and they did just that. Hazard went close again for the Blues, heading just wide from close range.

However, the Lilywhites halted the Chelsea charge, and it was the same combination as in the first half that broke down the Chelsea defence. Eriksen whipped yet another dangerous ball into the box, and it was Dele Alli on the end of it again. He headed the ball back across goal and beyond Courtois to double Tottenham’s lead.

Spurs slowed the game down and sat back just a little, stopping the Blues from creating anything at all. Diego Costa stung the hands of Hugo Lloris in the Spurs goal, but the visitors had very few chances to get back into the game before Spurs took all three points.

Dele Alli put in yet another excellent performance for Spurs, scoring the two all important goals. The Englishman struggled to get into the game in the first half, but worked his socks off and got his reward in the end. Alli scored two goals, completed two take ons, won 50% of his tackles and 50% of his aerial duels. Here is how Spurs fans reacted on Twitter to Alli’s performance.

‘Should Start More Often’ Spurs Fans Heap Praise Onto This Man Following Watford Thrashing

Spurs got the New Year off to the best possible start with a 4-1 win over struggling Watford. The win lifts Mauricio Pochettino’s side into the top four going into the next round of fixtures.

Spurs dominated the game from the start, and you could sense a goal was coming when Dele Alli crashed a magnificent effort off the bar. In fact, the opener came just 24 seconds later. Kieran Trippier slid a lovely ball through to Harry Kane, who finished at the near post beyond Gomes.

A second goal was to follow soon after. Trippier was the creator once again as he whipped a great cross into the box. Kane was first to it between two Watford defenders to fire Spurs two goals to the good.

Younes Kaboul would have been keen to impress former manager Mauricio Pochettino on his visit to Vicarage Road following his comments about the Argentine boss in the week, but it was his error that led to the third goal just before half-time. Kaboul should have cleared a second ball, but slipped and gave the chance to Dele Alli, who made no mistake in tucking the ball into the back of the net.

The Englishman added his second just after the break. Harry Kane played the ball through to Alli, who took a touch before sliding the ball under Gomes. Tottenham took their foot off the gas slightly, and Watford scored a conciliation goal in stoppage time as Kaboul bundled the ball into the net.

Kieran Trippier put in a highly impressive performance for Spurs, playing in a right wing-back role in the absence of Kyle Walker. The 26-year-old created two chances, both turning into goals, won 75% of his tackles and put 4 crosses into the box. Here is how Spurs fans reacted to Trippier’s fantastic display.

‘One Of The First Names On The Teamsheet’ Spurs Fans Praise This Man After Southampton Victory

Spurs moved into within one point of the top four with a thumping 4-1 win over Southampton at St. Mary’s with Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Heung-min Son getting on the scoresheet.

It was the worst possible start to the game for Tottenham after the conceded with just over a minute gone. The Saints whipped a dangerous free-kick into the box, and Virgil Van Dijk rose the highest to head into the bottom corner.

Spurs slowly grew into the game, and struck level after 19 minutes. Moussa Sissoko picked up the ball on the left-hand side, and delivered a deflected cross into the box, where Dele Alli was waiting to head into the back of the net off the post, leaving Fraser Forster with no chance.

The Lilywhites went ahead just after the break when Harry Kane headed in from a corner, and the Englishman had a chance to double Spurs’ lead soon after. Dele Alli went down in the box, and Mike Dean pointed to the spot although the original contact appeared to be outside the box. The referee also reached for his pocket and gave Nathan Redmond his marching orders for the foul. However, Harry Kane was unable to convert as his foot got caught in the turf and blazed the spot kick high over the bar.

Southampton threatened to get back into the game, but Heung-min Son gave Spurs a two goal cushion with five minutes to go. Christian Eriksen’s through ball was deflected and sent the South Korean through, and he had no problem in converting his chance to put Spurs 3-1 up.

The job was finished off just a couple of minutes later when Danny Rose made a surging run up the pitch before playing the ball to Dele Alli, who finished well into the bottom corner to secure the three points.

Although he was booed by the Southampton fans at times, it was a happy return to St. Mary’s for Victor Wanyama, who put in an excellent display during the 4-1 win. The midfielder looked solid in front of the defence, supplying the attckers well in the process, completing 92% of his passes, as well has having two shots and completing three take-ons. Here is how Spurs fans reacted to Wanyama’s display against Southampton.

‘Outstanding Again’ Spurs Fans Label This Man ‘Best In Europe’ After Burnley Victory

Spurs made it two wins in a week with their latest victory over Burnley at White Hart Lane. Goals from Dele Alli and Danny Rose helped Spurs to get the three points against the resilient visiting side.

Tottenham were sloppy at the back, and gifted Burnley the lead midway through the first half after they failed to clear the ball despite having more than one chance to do so. Ashley Barnes was there to capitalise for the visitors, handing them their first away league goal from open play of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men started the game the brighter of the two, and continued this trend despite falling behind. Kyle Walker continued his brilliant form to provide the assist for Dele Alli to fire Spurs level, just six minutes after conceding at the other end.

Tom Heaton and the Burnley defence did their best to try and stop Spurs taking the lead for the first time in the match, but the hosts found a breakthrough in the 71st minute. Substitute Moussa Sissoko, just one minute after he was controversially given a yellow card, made a surging run through midfield, played Danny Rose through, who smashed a shot into the back of the net at the front post.

Spurs would go on to see the game out, and move to within just one point of the top four after Manchester City triumphed 2-1 over Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium. Mauricio Pochettino and Spurs now have ten days before making the trip down to the South coast to face Southampton on the 28th December.

Match-winner Rose was the subject of much praise from Spurs fans on Twitter after another amazing performance. The Englishman had three shots during the win, created four chances, made eleven crosses as well as completing six take-ons. Here is what Spurs had to say about Rose on Twitter post-match.

Full-backs Danny Rose and Kyle Walker were both outstanding for Spurs again. Walker provided the assist for the equaliser before Rose netted the winner. As well as doing their jobs defensively, the pair are becoming a real force for Spurs in attack, and this has been highlighted in the past few weeks and the rest of the season, becoming really important parts of the side.

‘Best In The League’ Spurs Fans Delighted With Defender’s Display vs. Hull City

Spurs eased to a 3-0 victory over Hull in the Premier League at White Hart Lane thanks to a brace from the in-form Christian Eriksen, and a goal from Victor Wanyama.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men were in control from the very start of the game, and found the breakthrough just eleven minutes into the game. Danny Rose made an excellent run from his wing-back position and played the ball square to Eriksen, who was there to finish into the roof of the net. In the build-up to that goal, Spurs played a total of 30 passes, in what was an excellent team goal.

One of the wing-backs was again involved for the second goal. Kyle Walker was played in behind by Eric Dier, and Walker used his strength to retain the ball before firing a low ball across goal for Eriksen to tap in. Spurs added a third when Eriksen’s free-kick was looked goal-bound, but his shot was saved, but Wanyama was there to smash the ball home on the follow up.

One player that stood out for Spurs was right wing-back Kyle Walker. The Englishman continued to bomb down the right wing as night long, and provided the assist for the second goal. He has now has three assists for the season, which is more than Mesut Ozil. Walker created five chances in the 3-0 win, which was more than anybody else on the pitch. Here is how Spurs fans reacted to sublime performances from Kyle Walker as well as Danny Rose.

Mauricio Pochettino fielded a team that played in a 3-4-2-1 system, and you have to say, against a team like Hull, you can afford for your wing-backs to push up, but whether this system will be used in the next few weeks remains to be seen. However, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker both provided great assists in their wing-back roles and were extremely instrumental in the 3-0 win.

‘Criminally Overrated’ Spurs Fans Call For Pochettino To Drop This Man After Performance vs. Manchester United

Spurs fell to just their second defeat of this Premier League campaign after losing 1-0 at Old Trafford against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.

The win sees Spurs miss their opportunity to break into the top four ahead of Manchester City, allowing United to close the gap between themselves and Tottenham to just three points, half the cushion Spurs had at the start of the match.

Spurs started the match strongly, but they fell behind just before the half hour mark. Harry Kane sloppily gave the ball away in midfield, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan found himself through before producing a good finish to beat Hugo Lloris in the Spurs goal.

Spurs had a good chance to draw level just after the break. Christian Eriksen swung a ball in towards the back post, Wanyama sneaked in unmarked, but his header was horribly misjudged as he missed a huge opportunity.

Harry Kane was left isolated up top for the Lilywhites for most of the game, and United nearly doubled their lead when Paul Pogba hit the woodwork from a free-kick. The Frenchman could have scored just a couple of minutes later, but hit effort was straight at Lloris.

One player that failed to live up to expectation was Englishman Dele Alli. He got on the ball on very few occasions, and when he did, he was fairly wasteful. Alli had just one shot, made one cross in what was an extremely disappointing performance as he didn’t win a single tackle or aerial duel. The youngster’s frustration boiled over near the end, committing three fouls throughout the ninety minutes.

Here is how Spurs fans reacted to Alli’s poor display at Old Trafford.

It was a tough game for Spurs at Old Trafford, where they were struggling to create chances, but this was where Mauricio Pochettino needed one of his creative midfielders such as Dele Alli or Christian Eriksen to step up and make something happen. If Spurs are to challenge for a top four spot this season, these types of players will need to be creating chances and making things happen in the big games against the big boys.

‘Like The Player Of Last Season’ Fans Delighted With Spurs Man’s Fantastic Display vs CSKA Moscow

Spurs waved goodbye to Champions League football at Wembley on Wednesday night with a 3-1 win over CSKA Moscow, securing a place in the Europa League last 32.

Tottenham fell behind in the first half just after the half-hour mark courtesy of a Alan Dzagoev goal, but Spurs came from behind to grab the three points and nail down third spot in the group. Dele Alli fired Spurs level with a neat finish, before Danny Rose drilled a lovely ball across goal for Harry Kane to put into the back of the net just before the break.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men continued their domination in the second half, and doubled their lead with thirteen minutes to go when Dele Alli’s header was turned into the net by CSKA Moscow keeper Igor Akinfeev. Spurs will go into the Europa League last 32 draw as a seeded team following the win.

Goalscorer Dele Alli received a lot of praise on social media after his performance. The Englishman had seven shots, won 50% of his tackles and won all of his aerial duels over the ninety minutes. This is how Spurs fans reacted to his display at Wembley.

That’s two win on the bounce for Spurs now as they continue their recovery from two consecutive crushing losses at Monaco and Chelsea. They will be aiming for a third straight victory when they head to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

‘Immaculate Display’ Spurs Fans React To This Man’s Stunning Performance vs Swansea

Spurs eased past struggling Swansea City who fell to the bottom of the Premier League table as Spurs returning to somewhere near their best, recording a 5-0 win over the Welsh side.

Swansea stayed strong for a large part of the first half, but the deadlock was broken six minutes before half-time when Dele Alli was brought down in the eighteen-yard box. Referee Jon Moss pointed to the spot, and Harry Kane stepped up to continue his outstanding goalsoring form.

Heung-min Son added to the Spurs lead just before the break, scoring a world-class half-volley, giving the keeper next to no chance as the Lilywhites went into half-time two goals to the good. Harry Kane added his second of the afternoon shortly after the break.

To finish of the rout at White Hart Lane, Christian Eriksen scored the fourth goal of the afternoon and then added a fifth during added time, Moussa Sissoko providing the assist for that one.

The Dane has now scored three goals in his last two Premier League games, and looking like he is starting to rediscover his best form. Eriksen created five chances in the ninety minutes as well as having seven shots on the Swansea goal.

In addition to this, the Dane completed 78% of his passes, made seven crosses as well as winning all of his aerial duels. This is how Spurs fans reacted on Twitter to Eriksen’s performance.

Eriksen has always been a key figure for Spurs, and had lost his way slightly this season prior to the last two games. The effect he has on the rest of the team is clear for all to see, and when Eriksen plays well, Tottenham play well. He will be a key player for Spurs if they are to make a push for the top four, or even more.

‘Sickening’ Fans Unhappy With This Spurs Man After Chelsea Game

Spurs suffered their first defeat of the Premier League season at the hands Antonio Conte’s Chelsea, who have now won their last seven in the top flight.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side started very well, winning all of the key battles in midfield through Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama. Harry Kane had the ball in the back of the net after just five minutes, but looked over to see the assistant’s flag was raised.

Spurs did take the lead on the eleventh minute when Dele Alli played a neat ball to Christian Eriksen, who lashed a delightful left-footed shot into the back of the net. The Lilywhites continued to dominate play in the midfield, and looked like going into the break a goal to the good.

However, Pedro had other ideas. The Chelsea man picked the ball up on the edge of the box, Eric Dier failed to close him down and the Spaniard had enough time to curl a beauty of a shot into the corner, giving Hugo Lloris no chance.

Chelsea then took the lead soon after the break. Diego Costa was allowed the run at the Spurs defence before cutting a ball back across goal where Victor Moses was left in acres of space. The Nigerian’s shot was saved by the foot off Lloris, but cannoned into the Spurs net off Jan Vertonghen.

Spurs pushed for an equaliser late on, but couldn’t find the breakthrough as Antonio Conte’s side went top of the Premier League table.

One player that came under a bit of criticism after what wasn’t a totally negative performance at Stamford Bridge was Eric Dier. The England international filled in once again at centre-back, and in all honesty could have prevented both of Chelsea’s goals. Here is how Spurs fans on Twitter reacted to Dier’s performance.

Eric Dier has been filling in at centre-back ever since the injury of Toby Alderweireld, and generally he has done a good job. However, today he didn’t quite come up with the defensive goods today. Spurs will certainly benefit from having Alderweireld back from injury at the heart of the defence.

‘Cost Us The Game’ Spurs Fans Fuming With Midfielder After Monaco Defeat

Spurs crashed out of the Champions League last night at the hands of Monaco after only five group stage games following a shambolic 2-1 defeat. Spurs fans were not at all impressed.

Spurs started the game brightly, but this lasted for only eight or nine minutes before Hugo Lloris came to Spurs’ rescue to save a penalty just ten minutes into the game. However, Heung-min Son had an excellent chance to fire the Lilywhites ahead just six minutes in.

A lovely ball was slotted through and Son was in behind a very high Monaco back line. He just had to beat the keeper in a one-on-one, but failed to even get a shot off as he tried to round Subasic. He was forced wide and the chance was gone.

Aside from this absolute howler, Son failed to put a foot right in the rest of the game. He lost the ball on numerous occasions and looked scared to go into any tackles. It was a terrible performance from Son, who was key to Spurs’ win on Saturday against West Ham.

Spurs fans were rightly furious, and this is how they reacted to the South Korean’s display in Monaco.
