Bale starts, 6 changes: Tottenham’s predicted line up to face Aston Villa

It has been a disastrous week to be a Tottenham player, fan or anyone connected to the club.

An embarrassing performance against Arsenal was followed up by a catastrophic collapse in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Spurs have no time to feel sorry for themselves though and with Jose Mourinho reportedly fighting for his job, tonight’s game against Aston Villa is crucial.

The club are only 6 points off the top four, with a game in hand, so despite things going terribly this week, Spurs must make sure the wheels don’t fall off completely.

This is how we see the team lining up.

 Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris

Defence: Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld, Sergio Reguilon
Dier and Davies were pretty poor on Thursday and you’d expect Toby and Sergio to come straight back into the back four.

Midfield: Hojberg, Ndombele; Bale, Lucas, Bergwijn.
Tottenham’s midfield on Thursday was shocking. In this game we need to see the more attacking side of this team and with Lamela injured, an attacking trio of Bale, Lucas and Bergwijn could be exciting. Lucas was the one bright spark against Arsenal and he looks like he can be a matchwinner, something Spurs are desperate for.

Striker: Harry Kane
Kane simply has to play to give Spurs much chance in any game, let alone one against a team with one of the best defences in the Premier League.
