Tottenham have been snooping in the transfer market this summer and the arrival of Joe Hart on a free transfer highlights how the club are having to be more tactical and efficient in their transfer dealings this summer in what is a challenging landscape.
But they could have another opportunity for a bargain. Over in Juventus, new boss Andrea Pirlo has taken the severe step of cancelling the contracts of both Gonzalo Higuain and Sami Khedira, as he looks to give his Juventus squad a fresh new look. Earlier this week, reports suggested that Tottenham had been offer Khedira – although with his release, it seems the club lost patience in trying to find a suitor.
Khedira, now 33 had struggled with injuries throughout his career, but has impressed in his five year at Juventus, playing nearly 100 games and scoring more than 20 goals, despite playing as a more defensive minded midfielder.
Standing at 6ft 2’, Sami would add some steel and experience to a Spurs midfield that has look void of ideas at times in recent seasons. Khedira could give the team that base to build on and dominate games more than they have managed to do so to date under Mourinho.

Jose of course knows the player well having managed him at Madrid. He also knows Higuain well, who is now a free agent also. Gonzalo didn’t have the best time at Chelsea when he joined on loan, but if his wages were not crazy excessive, that could be something Spurs also consider as they look for a back up to Harry Kane.
