Report: Spurs table £75m bid for striker, is he Kane’s replacement?

The world is talking about football once again and the latest has Spurs linked with a huge bid for a young striker. Surely a bid of such magnitude would only be possible if Harry Kane was on his way out for a large chunk of money?

Well, according to Les Cahiers du Football, as cited by Football365, Spurs bid an astonishing £75million for Victor Osimhen earlier this month.

The 21-year-old striker is regarded as one of the best young forwards in Europe right now and so that valuation is not a surprise. What is a surprise though, is Spurs’ willingness to place such a bid. If this report is true, then surely Daniel Levy would only be willing to make such a huge bid if he thought Kane was leaving.

Back in March, we shared reports that Spurs were considering bids for Kane this summer, allegedly slapping a £150million price tag on his head. Due to the current market conditions however, it seems unlikely that the club would manage to secure such a high amount for the player.

Time will tell on this one, but as they say, there is no smoke without fire. The more reports we see emerging from abroad, we think it is becoming more likely that Harry may finally be on his way from Tottenham if a high enough bid arrives.

6ft 1′ Osimhen has huge potential. With incredible pace and strength combined, the Nigerian international seems to have it all. Emerging in the Lille first team this season, he has bagged 13 goals in 27 games.
